Many of you have expressed curiosity or annoyance about the scaffolding that has been hiding our shopfront from view.  When it first went up three years ago, we were optimistic.  We thought that the work would be done quickly, because we assumed that the expense of renting and insuring extensive scaffolding would be prohibitive over any extended length of time.  Hahaha. A quick history: Scaffolding over our shopfront was originally erected in the summer of 2023 as required by the City of Portland to protect pedestrians from unstable masonry in the facade of the Trelawny Building.  No work was being...
